● This project is distributed in three applications, Netreo application is set up in AWS, and Stackify, along with CloudMonix are hosted in Microsoft Azure. These applications were designed to help the developers team and DevOps team to get application insights, log management and infrastructure monitoring. ● For the Netreo application, he was in charge of infrastructure changes and deployments to production using codeDeploy and one custom script to set up new instances behind their production load balances including the latest version of code from their application ● Furthermore, he was in charge of infrastructure support on their Linux systems, and he was involved in some activities like certificate updates, ansible playbooks, internal networking configuration and application maintenance. ● Whereas he was working on this product, he was in charge of other activities on Azure Cloud, where they can find: Cloud Service deployments using Azure DevOps, TeamCity and Octopus for CI/CD process, AKS Cluster Version Upgrade, ElasticSearch Cluster set up and maintenance, Networking configurations, SSL Certificate updates on App Services, Cloud Services, Windows (IIS) and Linux (Apache/NGinx) web servers, Backup Strategy implementations, Service Upgrades (Migrate from an old Service Version to the most recent and available service), and user management using Azure Active Directory.

He created the cloud infrastructure that is now hosting around 20 sites, the service that they are using is WHM/CPanel, he installed and configured it in Google Cloud Platform and he has been fixing some issues with the different applications hosted on it like Laravel, Wordpress and NodeJS. In addition, he migrated the entire WHM/CPanel server between regions, this implied changes in the license IP and changed all the DNS Records from the sites to point to the new server

He worked with WHM/CPanel that hosts around 25 sites with its respective dev environments. Likewise, he performed a migration from s shared hosting to AWS and improved performance, security and disaster recovery plan, including configurations inside WHM/CPanel and Cloudflare CDN for each site inside the WHM installation.

He migrated this magento 2 site from Nexcess server to AWS, using best practices to keep performance, and improve security inside the environments. He created a new environment for the Magento 1 site too. This site in particular caused some problems related with the old php version that was used in the MageMojo server. Furthermore, he needed to use Docker to solve php incompatibilities with the Magento 1 environment, creating a container that runs PHP 5 and keeping it alive in a preventive plan.

On this project, he was able to dockerize Django Application and create and infrastructure that can serve Docker containers using amazon ECS. In this project he could apply Hardening Best Practices for the ICA Payment System, he’d installed CSF Firewall, modified the Security Groups, remove unnecessary users, migrate the website database from the local environment to an RDS instance to encrypt the data from this server and update services to the latest stable version. In addition, he configured and confirmed that the Email Service works without any problem.

Boatsetter
Best known as “Uber for boats”, Boatsetter is a web portal where you can rent boats in different locations around the world, with or without a boat captain. Another service that is provided by Boatsetter’s site is the way to announce your boat and your services as captain, getting a way to register and publish your services inside the application. ● His activities while he was working in this project were related to infrastructure As Code for multi-tenancy, using Terraform to start new environments required for testing purposes, using Ansible to install different services and resources that are needed for the different applications managed on the same testing server as well. ● Regarding to production environments, they were using Spinnaker for production deployments, using Packer to define the type of instance that should be used and deploy the specified applications separated by their own functionality and programming languages (NodeJS and Ruby On Rails) using a blue-green deployment strategy to avoid downtime for a considerable time on the day and quick rollback in case that its necessary. He managed all the marketing email services for the client, setting up a dedicated mail server, installing the necessary tools to manage email accounts and setting up DNS Zones for specific email domains. ● He was working on fixing issues on the CI/CD process for dev, staging and production environments. In addition to this, he was involved in the integration of a new application based on NodeJS for authentication and registration to the application implementing and new Ansible Playbook and setting up the additional steps for Infrastructure creation using Terraform. ● Furthermore, he was in charge of updating SSL Certificates used by different Load Balancers and Cloudfront Distribution that are an important part of the application. Finally, he was in charge of managed services and monitoring the infrastructure for emergencies.
