I have had the opportunity of building the QA area in two different companies. I have been working as a QA Tester for almost 15 years.
I have been working as a QA Tester for almost 15 years. The first 5 years being a Manual QA, I started automating in 2013 and kept doing so exclusively or a hybrid with manual testing since then. In addition to that, I have had the opportunity of building the QA area in two different companies. On those occasions, I’ve hired a total of 8 people, onboarded them, defined their tasks and roles, done performance reviews and trained them. In total, these experiences sum more than 3 years in management positions. I am a proactive person with a strong technical hands-on experience. I like testing and I feel comfortable leading teams where I can be a technical referent. I integrate well with the engineering teams as well as the customer facing teams, being able to bridge the gaps between these two sides of the companies. Finally, I’m naturally a curious person who enjoys learning about different industries.

Worked on two projects: the configuration platform for all clients, which was mostly UI with forms and a backend to persist configs,, as well as the Chatbot flow creation tool, which had more complex UI and backend logic.

• Coded API tests on a Python internal framework • Coded UI on E2E and integration layers, using Cypress • Trained manual QAs and UI developers on Cypress tests. • Coded custom integrations to monitor test envs health, which helped debug issues during the release validation process. • Implemented tests to database schema updates on the release process. • Improved tracking of prod issues followup actions by adapting the retrospective meeting template.

As the company’s first tester, I had to create the area from scratch. I setup the automation framework, integrated it to CI/CD, Github and Slack. Define another CD schema to add quality gates, which helped lowering the bugs in prod. Hired 5 peoples (took interviews, defined job descriptions, etc), defined their seniorities, conducted regular meetings, coached them. I was also hands-on regarding prod issues, helping to debug them, facilitating the retrospectives, conducting debugging with clients if needed.
Responsibilities & achievements
• Setup framework with webdriver.io (Node.js) + BrowserStack. • Setup Zalenium to replace BrowserStack later, which lowered cost of test runs ~10k USD/year • Automate E2E tests with visual diff screens with webdrivercss. • Integrate Github + Slack + Jenkins through Webtask.io to improve DX. • Scripted Bash health check for test/prod environment provisioning. • Designed the Release process, cadence and validation, which left me as an acting release manager. • Coordinated releases with Devops (env vars, configs, etc), Devs (feature flags, release notes), client- • facing teams to coordinate demos or special situations • Hired 5 people, being in charge of the whole process (from job posting and screening up to the offer). • Defined seniorities, pay scales, team assignments. • Onboarding and weekly 1on1 with the QAs to facilitate vacations, performance feedback, team or tech related issues.
