Hello! I'm a programmer, consultant, and former startup founder who enjoys solving concrete problems for real people. I love mentoring, and being mentored. Attracted to engineering roles with compelling challenges, a friendly team, and a strong mission. A bit more on the tech side: I enjoy learning new tools and teaching them to others, and solving fiddly engineering problems with creative, math-y algorithms. I try to design modular software that's easy to test and debug, but ... who wouldn't? Product-wise, I want to create things that give agency back to the user from the product, things that are so simple people already know how to use them, and can focus on what they're doing instead of figuring out my software. Recently I've been playing around with refactoring old jQuery code, and creating apps with a simple Node or Django/Flask backend API and a responsive frontend in React.
